Beer News, Brewery News

Having lived in Chico for a couple years, prior to my current stay in San Francisco, I can’t help but be a big fan and advocate of Sierra Nevada. Summerfest calls my name during those hot months (well, hot in Chico and NOT SF) and Celebration Ale keeps me warm during those long winter nights. In 2009, beer enthusiasts were fortunate enough to partake in the pleasures of Life&Limb, a much anticipated collaboration between Sierra Nevada and Dogfish Head, and in 2010 the collaboration spirit will continue.

Sierra Nevada announced in December that it will be partnering up with Anchor Brewing and three other craft brew pioneers to bring four new collaboration beers to the masses in commemoration of its 30th anniversary.

“We wanted to pay tribute to the original pioneers who helped me and hundreds of others get started,” said Sierra Nevada founder Ken Grossman. “Few people in the craft-brewing world have accomplished more than these guys, and we thought it might be fun to get the original crew together and make something special.”

Sierra Nevada and Anchor coming together? Sounds like a match made in heaven to me. Be on the lookout for the first of these four new brews to hit shelves come March.
